 **Lea Geler** is Researcher at Argentina’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICET) and at the Instituto de Historia Argentina y Americana “Dr. Emilio Ravignani" of the University of Buenos Aires. She got her PhD at Universitat de Barcelona, Spain, in 2008. Her work focuses on Afro-Descendants in Buenos Aires since the 19th century to the present, exploring questions of Afro-Argentine memory, of (self)representations, and of race, nation, class and gender in Argentina. She is the editor, along with Eva Lamborghini, of the dossier “Imágenes racializadas: políticas de representación y economía visual en torno a lo “negro” en Argentina, siglos XX y XXI” (Racialized images: politics of representation and visual economy around “blackness” in Argentina, 20th-21st centuries), published in *Corpus: Archivos Virtuales de la Alteridad Americana* 6:2 (2016). Geler is the cofounder of GEALA (Group of Afro-Latin American Studies, University of Buenos Aires).
